Josh Habka is an American analog astronaut, science communicator, and biohacker. He is notable for his contributions to the space industry, particularly in the areas of biohacking and life extension. Habka is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics and a Master of Science in Commercial Enterprise in Space at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). Additionally, he is a scientist-astronaut candidate at the International Institute of Astronautical Sciences (IIAS), where he is engaged in professional training in applied astronautics.

Early Life and Education[]

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Josh Habka attended Bullitt East High School from 2018 to 2022[1] and Jefferson Community and Technical College from 2020 to 2022. He later relocated to Melbourne, Florida, to further his education at FIT. At FIT, Habka is pursuing dual degrees in Astronomy and Astrophysics and Commercial Enterprise in Space.

As a science communicator, Josh Habka engages with a broad audience through various digital platforms. He maintains an educational astronomy blog, produces weekly YouTube videos, and hosts a podcast titled "StarFM," where he discusses topics ranging from neutrinos and cosmological phenomena to exoplanets and habitability for life.[2] Habka also developed "Universe Launches," a rocket launch tracking platform, and the "Astronomy Quiz of The Day" (AQOD) to further engage and educate his audience.

Josh Habka is undergoing astronaut training at the International Institute of Astronautical Sciences (IIAS).[3] His training encompasses suborbital training, spacesuit evaluation, space life support systems, mission simulation, and specialized modules.
