What smog caused by global dimming looks like.

Global Dimming is when too much particle plollution causes smoke and soot over the Earth to form. It is often believed that the burning of fossil fuels that contain CO2 have caused particle pollution. It stops solar rays from reaching the Earth and cools the Earth. This cooling effect may have masked the effects of global warming for years. The process can also change rain patterns.
