Lithium is the lightest metal and can easily float. It reacts with water, realising hydrogen gas. It can be cut relatively easily and it leaves marks on the metal. It is used in some drugs and lithium batteries. Its melting point is 180.5°C (356.972 °F) and its boiling point is 1342 °C (2447.6 °F).
